Ask the Experts: Favorite Travel Products.

I don’t know about you guys, but when I’m in the market for a new item, I always make sure to do loads of research and read product reviews before making a purchase. When it comes to recommendations for new travel gear, who better to ask than travel bloggers?! I wanted to find out what their “must-have” products were..Here’s what they had to say!

“My all-time favorite travel item (so far!) has to be my Planet Wise Wet/Dry Bag! It has saved my suitcase so many times. It functions as a waterproof/tight bag that is perfect for wet clothing, dirty shoes or laundry, towels, basically anything that could destroy the state of your backpack or suitcase. I will never travel without one again, so versatile and handy!”

I’ve taken the LaCie Rugged Mini External Hard Drive with me all over the world! These are super affordable, especially for the amount of storage you get, plus they’re resistant for all-terrain so it’s perfect to take wherever you go. My Lacie is a life saver when I work retreats and have to import photos, and it comes with a built-in cable that wraps around so you don’t have to worry about bringing another cable or buying one with you.

They don’t sell my particular model Pacsafe Backpack anymore, but I bought this before my trip to Bali to double as a day bag and camera bag. It’s anti-theft design has clips on the zippers, so it’s a little more difficult for someone to unzip, and its “slashguard” straps give you peace of mind that no one can take off with your stuff. The water bottle pockets on the side were an added bonus for me because I put my lenses in there to swap them out quickly. Oh, and it’s also water-resistant, so your sweat won’t dampen your bag (major key!)

Delkin All-In-One Universal Card Reader Compatible with SDXC, UDMA and SDHC DDREADER-41
Leave your card adapters and cables at home and treat yourself with an all in one card reader. Depending on your gear, this may or may not be an essential item to have, however, my 11 inch MacBook Air doesn’t have a card reader. This gadget comes in handy when you’re bringing multiple cameras with you (for me it’s usually a Canon 6D or 50D and a GoPro) and a multi-card reader has all the slots you need for all of your different equipment.”

I cannot live without my Travel-Size CAVIAR Anti-Aging® Shampoo and Condition by Alterna Haircare. Ever since I started using it, I don’t have to worry about packing a blow-dryer or straightener when I travel, which saves so much space! Shaine is a light packer, and only uses his iPhone 6 for travel photography. Taking HDR photos, using Google Maps, and being active on social media really drains the battery half way through the day. With the Mophie Powerstation Mini, we no longer have to worry about conserving battery if we know we’re not going to be able to get to a charger all day.

Like many people, I find it almost impossible to sleep on long haul flights. It’s either too hot or too cold, too uncomfortable, too noisy… so I always take herbal sleeping tablets with me. My travel sleeping tablets of choice are Nytol Nighttime Sleep Aid Quick Capsules, but there are many different brands to choose from. Just take one tablet about 20 minutes before you want to go to sleep and you’ll find yourself drifting off in no time. The downside is that they do leave a rather unpleasant taste in your mouth but I find that a small price to pay for a relatively good night’s sleep!

One travel product I absolutely can not live without is my Shacke PakPacking Cubes . I am one of those people who has my suitcase destroyed after the first stop on my journeys, until I started using Shacke Pak that is. Now I keep everything completely organized and everything fits back into my suitcase the way it’s supposed to. I organize my clothes by tops, underwear and socks, bottoms, and then jackets and sweatshirts using the 4 different sizes of Shacke Pak packing cubes. All of my items are rolled up to save space and then I know exactly which bag I need to open depending on what item of clothing I am looking for. My suitcase stays super tidy and I know if I’m missing something because they go back in the exact same way every time. Amazon has a great selection with multiple colors to fit your personality which I also love. I can’t even begin to explain how much easier and less stressful it has made traveling to multiple destinations!
