The Balboa Peninsula is a beautiful quiet neighborhood that boasts a three mile stretch of beach and a stunning harbour, all overlooking the vast expanses of the Pacific Ocean. There is a charming little pavilion, that’s over 100 years old that is the area’s most famous landmark. There is also an extensive array of sea front restaurants to while away a couple of hours lunching under the sun.

If you’re traveling with kids the Balboa Peninsula has heaps of activities to keep them occupied. There is the Balboa Fun Zone, the pier, the Dory Fishing Fleet Market and the Environmental Nature Center.

Corona del Mar State Beach

If you’re looking for a bit of beach action then this is the place to find it. Corona del Mar State Beach, meaning ‘Crown of the Sea’ is a protected half-mile beach that offers a whole host of water activities. This protected sandy beach is home to surfers, snorkelers, scuba divers and is also a famous beach for great sea swimming. There you will also be able to get involved with the locals in a couple of games of volleyball or, of course, you could just chill on this stunning beach, relax and do a spot of sunbathing.

There really is something for everyone from beach front studio apartments to penthouse suite apartments with panoramic views to luxury hotels. Do a little research on the what you’re looking for from your weekend stay and the location that would best suit your needs for your trip.
